Webster City boys soccer shuts out Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, 4-0

WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Monday evening, as they hosted the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field. Webster City entered at 2-1-1, while GHV entered at 4-2-1.

Webster City looked to bounce back following their loss to Clear Lake, and did so early with a David Villelas goal in the 10th minute to put the Lynx ahead 1-0. Just a couple minutes later, junior Francisco Revolorio Guinac would score off a Dany Morales assist in the 12th minute to put Webster City ahead 2-0. The Lynx would add on to their lead once more before halftime with David Villelas’s 2nd goal off a Jaime Martinez Andrial assist in the 26th minute to put Webster City ahead 3-0 at halftime. The 2nd half saw David Villelas capture a hat trick, with a goal off an Aaron Mendoza assist in the 56th minute to give the Lynx their eventual final at 4-0.

Villelas would have 3 goals on 6 shots on goal, as the Lynx had 16 shots on goal to GHV’s 2 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Edwin Ramos Nolasco had 2 saves in 70 minutes of action.

Webster City boys soccer returns to action on Thursday, when they host the Charles City Comets in North Central Conference action with kickoff at 7:30 PM.
