GOLDFIELD, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls girls golf team opened their 2026 season on Monday afternoon, as they hosted the Southeast Valley Jaguars in non-conference action at Oak Ridge Golf Club in Goldfield.
CGD would come up just short against the Jaguars, as the Cowgirls shot a 237 (+93), as the meet medalist would be junior Blaire Askelsen, who shot a 50 (+14). Claire Kirstein would place 3rd and shoot a 54 (+18), as Jada Weets placed 7th and shot a 64 (+28), with Quinn Brooks rounding out scoring in 10th with a 69 (+33). Other scorers for the Cowgirls saw Tess Wibhold shoot a 78 (+42) and Avery Fiscus shoot an 84 (+48).
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf returns to action on Tuesday, as they host Iowa Falls-Alden and Charles City for a North Central Conference tri at Clarmond Country Club, beginning at 4:30 PM.
