Webster City boys soccer falls at Clear Lake, 1-0

CLEAR LAKE, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the trip into Cerro Gordo County to take on the Clear Lake Lions in North Central Conference action at Lions Field. Webster City entered at 2-0-1, as Clear Lake entered at 3-0-3.

As has been the norm for Webster City soccer this year, defenses ruled in the first half as the score was knotted at 0-0 at the halftime break. However, it was Clear Lake that broke through in the 49th minute off a goal from Trevor Theobald to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Webster City’s offense could not get going in the 2nd half as the Lynx fell to the Lions by a score of 1-0.

Edwin Ramos Nolasco recorded 8 saves in the match despite the 1 Clear Lake goal on the evening.

Webster City boys soccer returns to action on Monday, when they host Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field with kickoff at 5:30 PM.
