Roland-Story girls track claims shared title for Madrid girls meet

MADRID, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norse girls track and field team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip to southern Boone County to compete in the annual Madrid Girls Invitational at Randy Hinkel Field. The Norse were joined by the host Tigers, as well as Boone, Central Decatur, East Marshall, North Polk, Ogden and Twin Cedars.

Roland-Story would wind up sharing the meet title with Boone, as each squad scored 121 points. Roland-Story grabbed a number of winners on Tuesday, the first coming in the sprint medley in a time of 2:02.19 with the team of Reitano-Carlson-Rechkemmer-Janes, as the Norse’s shuttle hurdle then won in a time of 1:08.46 with the team of Rechkemmer-Lucas-Jondle-Helgeson. Karsyn Lande would pick up a win in the 400m dash in a time of 1:04.92, before the Norse won the 4×200 in a time of 1:54.00 with the team of Reitano-Lucas-Janes-Carlson. Roland-Story ended the night with a win in the 4×400 in a time of 4:31.08 with the team of Carlson-Petersen-Janes-Lande.
