Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track competes in Clear Lake boys invitational on Tuesday

CLEAR LAKE, Ia. — The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys track and field teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip into Cerro Gordo County to compete in the annual Clear Lake Boys Invitational at Lions Field. The Cowboys were joined by the host Lions, as well as Algona, Belmond-Klemme, Forest City, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Humboldt, Lake Mills, Osage and Saint Ansgar.

CGD would place 8th in the meet with 31 points, as their top placer was junior Logan Torsell, who finished 2nd in the 800m run in a personal-best time of 2:12.49. Huxley Lingenfelter would put together an impressive performance in the discus, placing 3rd with a throw of 155′ 9″, breaking the previous meet record. The boys 4×200 would place 5th in a time of 1:38.01 with the team of Downing-H. Lingenfelter-P. Lingenfelter-Hernandez Ordonez, as the shuttle hurdle placed 6th in a time of 1:11.70 with the team of Rivera-H. Lingenfelter-P. Lingenfelter-Duncalf.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track and field returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Hampton to compete in the Hampton-Dumont-CAL boys invitational, beginning at 4:30 PM.
