STORY CITY, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen basketball teams returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Greene County Rams in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School in Story City.
Roland-Story jumped all over the Rams in the opening quarter, leading 20-2 after one, extending that lead to 35-5 at halftime. The Norse offense didn’t slow down in the 2nd half, putting up 38 points in the 2nd half to clinch a 73-22 victory.
Riley Johnson lead the Norse with 24 points, as Lucy Schmidt added 13 points and 3 three-pointers off the bench. Sara Morlan led Greene County with 7 points.
The boys game followed as things started very similar to the girls game, as Roland-Story led 18-2 after the first quarter, a lead that expanded to 43-10 at the halftime break. Backups played a majority of the 2nd half for the Norsemen as they cruised to a 64-24 victory.
Luke Thoreson led the Norsemen with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals, as Cody Long added 7 points and 5 assists. Tegan Chisholm led Greene County with 6 points.
Roland-Story basketball returns to action on Tuesday, when they host the West Marshall Trojans in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School with tipoff at 6 PM.
