DES MOINES — The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to action on Monday evening, as they made the trip to Des Moines to take on the Grand View Christian Thunder in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Grand View Christian High School. Roland-Story entered at 8-2 and ranked #12 in Class 3A, while Grand View Christian entered at 7-6.
It would be a sluggish start in set 1 for the Norsemen, but things would smooth out for Roland-Story as they came away with a 25-16 victory. Grand View Christian would up the ante in set 2, sending the frame into extra rallies, but it would be Roland-Story emerging on top with a 27-25 win. The Norsemen then dominated the Thunder in Set 3 for a 25-11 victory and a 3-0 sweep.
Brookelyn Jondle finished with 10 kills, 3 assists and 2 blocks on Monday, as Miley Geise finished with 6 kills, 25 assists and 3 aces. Caitlyn Flattebo also finished with 6 kills.
Roland-Story volleyball returns to action on Saturday, when they travel to Parkersburg to compete in the Aplington-Parkersburg Tournament, beginning at 9 AM.
