The Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks boys golf teams returned to action on Wednesday morning, as they compete in their Class 2A Sectional Tournament at River Bend Golf Course in Story City. The Norsemen and Hawks were joined by Colo-NESCO, East Marshall, Grundy Center, PCM, South Hardin and West Marshall.
Roland-Story placed 4th with a team score of 335 (+47), as Grundy Center was the team champion with a 297 (+9). Braylen Loots was the Norsemen’s top scorer, shooting an 80 (+8) and placing 11th. Jack Birkland finished 17th with an 83 (+11), as Hayden Eslick placed 18th with an 84 (+12), and Dylan Gustafson placed 29th with an 88 (+16) to round out varsity scoring.
South Hamilton placed 5th with a team score of 340 (+52), with their top scorer coming from Tyler Schachtner, who placed 16th with a score of 82 (+10). Luke Martensen placed 19th with an 84 (+12), Connor Deppe placed 26th with an 87 (+15), as Landon Sogard placed 27th by also shooting an 87 (+15) to round out scoring.
Grundy Center and PCM would advance to next week’s district meet in Iowa City, hosted by Iowa City Regina.
