Webster City girls tennis falls at home to Dike-New Hartford

The Webster City Lynx girls tennis teams returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Wolverines of Dike-New Hartford in non-conference action at Webster City High Schoo.

Dike-New Hartford would set the tone off the bat, as Aidalyn Tott would defeat Allie Severe 10-1 in position 1, before Cyra Christensen was shutout by Izzy Norton 10-0 in position 2. The Wolverines continued to blitz the Lynx as Perla Torres lost 10-1 to Claire McCumber, before Gabbie Sebert tried to inject some life into the purple and gold, falling just 10-8 to Addy Joslin. Morgan Hackbarth would lose to Indee Grassley 10-5, before Hailey Brim would give the Lynx their first win with a 10-4 decision over Abrielle Pokorny.

The Lynx would not fare much better in the doubles, as Allie Severe and Cyra Christensen fell to Aidalyn Tott and Izzy Norton 10-0, as Perla Torres and Gabbie Sebert would fall 10-1 to Addy Joslin and Claire McCumber. Indee Grassley and Abrielle Pokorny would defeat Hailey Brim and Morgan Hackbarth 10-6 to clinch an 8-1 meet win for Dike-New Hartford.

Webster City returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Boone to take on the Toreadors at McHose Park.
