Roland-Story, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys golf competes in sectionals at Lake Mills

The Roland-Story Norsemen and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys golf teams returned to action on Wednesday morning, as they competed in their Class 2A Sectional Tournament at Rice Like Golf Course in Lake Mills. The Norsemen and Cowboys were joined by the host Bulldogs, as well as Aplington-Parkersburg, Central Springs, Dike-New Hartford, South Hardin and South Winneshiek.

Roland-Story and CGD would each send one individual qualifier on to next Monday’s district tournament at Dike-New Hartford, as CGD’s Cale Kirstein shot an 81 (+9) to qualify, while Roland-Story’s Braylon Loots qualified with an 83 (+11), as they were two golfers outside that 3 qualifying schools with the lowest scores.

Lake Mills was the sectional champion with a score of 311, Aplington-Parkersburg (320) and South Winneshiek (332) also moved on to districts. Roland-Story placed 4th with a 347 and CGD was 6th with a 352.
