Eagle Grove, CGD compete at Clarion home meet

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Eagle Grove Eagles girls track teams returned to action on Tuesday, as CGD hosted the Cowgirl Relays at CGD Middle School in Clarion. The Cowgirls and Eagles were joined by Belmond-Klemme, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Iowa Falls-Alden, North Iowa, Pocahontas Area, St. Edmond, West Fork and West Hancock.

CGD would pick up a number of winners on Tuesday evening, beginning with Mikayla Beisel in the high jump, winning with a high-mark of 5′ 4″, a mark keeping her squarely in the conversation for the Drake Relays. Beisel would follow that up by winning the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 17.01, and anchoring the shuttle hurdle team to a win in a time of 1:12.73.

In Class B, Eagle Grove would pick up a handful of wins as well, beginning in the long jump as Addyson Jeske won with a mark of 16′ 2.5″. Ayden Feske would follow that up with a win in 100 meter dash in a time of 13.70. The Eagles would pick up just one relay win in the 4×100 with a time of 54.09.

CGD and Eagle Grove would finish tied for 9th, scoring 183 points each. West Hancock was the overall meet champion with 292 points. Full meet results can be found on Bound.
