Hamilton County sees an increase in unemployment for November.

The Iowa Workforce Development office reported today (Tuesday) that the unemployment rate for Hamilton County went up last month for November. The rate is at 2.8 percent up from the October rate of 2.6 percent. In November,2021, the rate was at 3.2 percent. There were 6,830 people employed across Hamilton County in November while there were 200 people who were without work. The unemployment rates for surrounding counties from last month included Boone County at 2.3 percent, Franklin County at 2.5 percent, Hardin Count was at 2.9 percent, Story County at 2.1 percent,Webster County was at 3.1 percent and Wright County was at 2.4 percent. Iowa’s unemployment rate for November was at 3.1 percent up from the October figure of 2.9 percent.
