The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys golf team entered postseason on Wednesday as they hosted a Class 2A sectional at Clarmond Country Club in Clarion. The Cowboys were joined by Belmond-Klemme, Central Springs, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Grundy Center, North Union and Osage.
Jacob Moore was the top individual finisher for the Cowboys, shooting an 83 (+11) on the day. Teammate Eric Fjetland placed right behind Moore, shooting an 84 (+12). Carson Harle would place in a tie for 17th with a score of 87, while Cale Kirstein would shoot an 88, with Colin Kirstein shooting a 89. Jackson Beisel rounded out the Cowboys lineup with a 92.
CGD would place 4th in the meet with a score of 342, which ends the Cowboys season. Grundy Center was the sectional champion with a score of 312, with Osage placing 2nd with a score of 334.
