Webster City volleyball sweeps NCC crossover quad against Eagle Grove and St. Edmond

HAMPTON, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to the floor on Tuesday night, as they made the trip into Franklin County to compete in a North Central Conference crossover quad at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School.

Webster City opened the night with a matchup against Eagle Grove, the first meeting between the two programs since Eagle Grove left the NCC in 2014. The Lynx would dominate 2-0 with sets of 25-10 and 25-5, as Tristyn Wright had 5 kills and 3 aces, while Evie Davis had 2 kills and 5 blocks.

The final match of the night saw Webster City face off with St. Edmond, as the Lynx would win in straight sets in a hard-fought 2-0 victory with sets of 25-23 and 25-20. Tristyn Wright finished with a team-high 8 kills, while Jaylyn Bahrenfuss had 2 kills, 2 blocks and 4 aces.

The Ace of the Game, presented by Ace Hardware of Webster City, was Lynx junior Jaylyn Bahrenfuss, who totaled 3 kills, 21 assists, 4 blocks and 3 aces.

Webster City volleyball returns to the court next Tuesday, when they travel to Fort Dodge to take on the Fort Dodge Dodgers at Fort Dodge Senior High, with first serve at 7:15 PM.
