EAGLE GROVE, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles, Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys cross country teams returned to the course on Tuesday evening, as all 3 programs competed in the annual Dick Bell Invitational at Eagle Grove Golf Course. The Eagles, Lynx and Cowboys were joined by Algona, Belmond-Klemme, Bishop Garrigan, Central Springs, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, GTRA, Humboldt, North Iowa, South Hardin and West Fork.
Webster City’s girls would place 4th as a team with a total of 109 points, as senior Izzy Grossoehme had a top 10 finish by placing 9th in a time of 22:40.41, as Lyla Brookshire was 15th in 23:18.48. Quynn Pruismann was 29th in 25:45.43, Marlene Saavendra Mendoza was 33rd in 26:34.88 and McKenna Buakham was 43rd in 27:20.67.
Eagle Grove would not compete as a complete team, but did have the top area individual placer, as freshman London Parrott placed 5th in a time of 21:53.37, as junior Myka Anderson was 21st in 24:36.83. Ingrid Pull was 74th in 31:21.76, as Adalie Alt was 86th in 37:10.30. CGD had just two athletes compete, as Addyson greenfield was 73rd in 31:13.91, while Sofia Dahlgren was 82nd in 33:29.00.
The boys race saw Webster City place 4th as a team with a total of 123 points, as junior Daniel Murillo-Delfin placed 12th in a time of 19:08.9, while sophomore Aiden Wardell was 26th in 19:49.67. Kaleb Draeger was 28th in 19:51.99, Max Barrick was 29th in 19:53.06, as Kade Kruger was 31st in 19:59.77.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys placed 9th with a total of 234 points, as sophomore Carson Gump placed 9th in a time of 18:47.12, while senior Logan Torsell was 24th in 19:44.83. Max Engstler was 59th in 21:31.63, Edurardo Rivera was 79th in 22:47.87, as Roy Hoang rounded out scoring in 98th with a time of 24:17.68.
Eagle Grove would place 10th with a total of 265 points, as junior Asarel Castro was 19th in a time of 19:36.81, while freshman Stetson Kvale was 47th in 20:58.71. Anthony Vasquez was 66th in 22:03.14, Tucker Taylor was 80th in 22:53.27, while Edward Orozco-Onate was 84th in 23:14.02.
Eagle Grove cross country returns to action on Thursday, when they run at the Jim Klein Invitational at Jewell Golf and Country Club, beginning at 4:40 PM. Webster City and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows cross country return to action next Tuesday, when they run at the North Central Conference meet at Maynes Grove park near Iowa Falls, beginning at 3:45 PM.
