Webster City volleyball downs Charles City on senior night, 3-1

WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to the floor on Thursday night, as they hosted the Charles City Comets in North Central Conference Tradition Division action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered with a record of 11-8, while Charles City entered at 8-10.

Webster City would dominate the opening set by a score of 25-10, before Charles City would rally in the 2nd set to come away with a 25-22 win and tie the match at 1-1. From there, however, the Lynx would dominate, routing the Comets in set 3 by a score of 25-8, before coasting in the 4th set to grab a 25-17 win and 3-1 victory on senior night.

Junior Jaylyn Bahrenfuss had the top night, totaling 12 kills and 4 blocks, as Evie Davis and Tristyn Wright tallied 8 kills each, while Allison Arends and Avery Poppen each had 7 kills.

Webster City volleyball returns to action on Saturday, when they make the trip down Highway 17 to compete in the Madrid Tournament at Madrid High School, beginning at 8 AM.
