Webster City, Roland-Story and Eagle Grove cross country run at Mike Carr Invitational in Huxley

HUXLEY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx, Roland-Story Norsemen and Eagle Grove Eagles cross country teams returned to the course on Monday night, as they made the trip to southern Story County to run at the Mike Carr Invitational at Ballard Golf and Country Club. The Lynx, Norsemen and Eagles were joined by the host Ballard Bombers, as well as ADM, Atlantic, Belmond-Klemme, Bondurant-Farrar, Iowa Falls-Alden, Lynnville-Sully, Madrid, Nevada, Nodaway Valley, North Polk, Pella Christian, Van Meter and Woodward-Granger.

Roland-Story’s girls would be the top placer in the listening area for the girls race, finishing 9th as a team with 211 points. The Norse’s top placer was senior Kara Patterson, who was 17th in 21:19.7, while junior Sophie Bates was 29th in 22:18.2. Hadley Carlson was 38th in 23:13.7, Callie Jedlicka was 62nd in 24:41.2, as Logan Lande rounded out scoring in 65th with a time of 25:01.7.

Webster City placed 13th with a total of 320 points, as 8th Grader Lyla Brookshire was the Lynx top placer in 36th with a time of 23:00, while freshman Quynn Pruismann was 66th in 25:13.3. McKenna Buakham was 70th in 25:19.7, Rubi Andrade-Murillo was 72nd in 25:31.7, as Megan VanDeer rounded out scoring in 76th with a time of 26:10.5.

Eagle Grove did not compete as a complete team, as freshman London Parrott placed 27th in a time of 21:54.9, Myka Anderson was 67th in 24:11.5, as Ingrid Pull was 138th in 28:13.5.

Roland-Story’s boys would be the top placing area team as well, finishing 11th with 269 points, as senior Corben Lucchesi was the meet runner-up, finishing in a time of 16:59.3, as Caden Lucchesi placed 24th in a time of 18:18.5. Jerry Severson was 78th in 20:27.6, Josiah Potratz was 80th in 20:33.5, as Josiah Stotts rounded out scoring in 85th at a time of 20;46.1.

Webster City placed 12th in the meet with a total of 293 points, as sophomore Aiden Wardell was the top placer, finishing 36th in a time of 18:33.5, while junior Daniel Murillo-Delfin was 47th in 18:58.1. Kaleb Draeger was 64th in 19:28.5, Max Barrick was 67th in 19:37.4, while Jordan Betts rounded out scoring in 79th with a time of 20:29.3.

Eagle Grove would place 14th with a total of 403 points, as senior Hunter Waldo Martinez led the Eagles in 48th with a time of 19:01.9, while freshman Stetson Kvale was 76th in 20:24.8. Adam Dak was 90th in 20:59.7, Asarel Castro was 93rd in 21:30.5, while Anthony Vasquez rounded out scoring in 96th with a time of 21:53.4.

Webster City and Eagle Grove cross country return to action on Thursday, when they run at the Clear Lake Invitational at Veterans Memorial Golf Club, beginning at 5:25 PM. Roland-Story cross country returns to action on Thursday, when they run at the Panorama Invitational in Panora, beginning at 5:35 PM.
