OGDEN, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles football team returns to the gridiron on Friday Night, as they make the trip down Highway 169 to take on the Ogden Bulldogs in non-district action at Ogden High School. Eagle Grove enters with a record of 1-0, as Ogden enters with a similar 1-0 record. Eagle Grove leads the all-time series 4-3 dating back to 2010, as Ogden won the 2025 matchup by a score of 25-24.
Ogden comes into week 2 fresh off a 29-8 victory over Perry in week 1, as the Bulldogs rallied in the 2nd half to pull away from the Bluejays. The Bulldogs offense is led by sophomore quarterback Carson Lloyd, who threw for 176 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for 33 yards against Perry. Lloyd is joined by sophomore running back Jackson Klith in the backfield, who rushed for 45 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also catching 6 passes for 40 yards in week 1. The Bulldogs top receivers are junior Weston Sundell and senior Brayden Miller, who each caught 5 passes as Sundell had 31 yards and Miller had 65 yards, while senior Kobe Current caught 3 passes in the openr for 19 yards and a touchdown. Seniors Landon Alexander and Dillon Moe are the veteran leaders for the Bulldogs offensive line.
Defensively, the Bulldogs are led by a strong linebacking core that will be tested by the Eagle Grove triple option attack. Seniors Landon Alexander and Dillon Moe, as well as junior Tyler Lass, all recorded double-digit tackles against Perry, as Lass and Moe had 2 TFL and a sack each. The defensive line is led by the likes of Nate Swisher and Sylas Rude, each of whom recorded tackles for loss in the opener. The defensive backfield will have a challenge in covering Eagles receiver Gavin Pedersen, as junior Ryder Eklund, sophomore Zachary Crosman and senior Kobe Current lead the Ogden secondary.

Eagle Grove will look to build off their 76-6 thrashing of Lake Mills in the season-opener, as senior quarterback Adrian Whipple had a career day against the Bulldogs with 4 total touchdowns. The Eagles fronts on both sides will see a bigger challenge with a small, yet aggressive and physical Ogden trenches.
