Webster City girls tennis falls to Clear Lake, 7-2

WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team re-entered conference play on Tuesday afternoon, as they hosted the Clear Lake Lions for a North Central Conference meet at Webster City High School. Webster City entered with a record of 0-4, while Clear Lake entered 2-1.

Clear Lake started the singles portion off with a victory, as Natalie Segar for the Lynx fell 2-0 (6-3, 6-1), before Lynx senior Gabbie Sebert evened things up with a 2-0 win (6-2, 6-2). Clear Lake then went on to sweep the remainder of the singles portion to take a 5-1 advantage into doubles. Webster City would pick up a win in the doubles portion, but the margin was too great to make up in a 7-2 victory for the Lions.

Webster City girls tennis returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Osage to take on the Green Devils at Osage High School, with first serve at 4:15 PM.
