WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department released on Tuesday that they had arrested two individuals on charges of grooming as a part of two separate undercover operations.
Shawn Allan Holmes of Wisconsin was arrested on Tuesday with the charges of Grooming and Enticing a Minor under 16 for sexual purposes, both Class D felonies. Jeremiah James McCurdy of Fort Dodge was also arrested for the charge of Grooming.
Hamilton County Sheriff Alex Pruismann stated in Tuesday’s release that the individuals were “identified and investigated” after contacting and engaging in conversation with an undercover deputy who was operating online under the persona of an underage child that resided in Hamilton County.
Each charge for Holmes and McCurdy can carry up to 5 years in prison and registration onto the sex offenders registery.
