Des Moines- The Iowa Court of Appeals Wednesday upheld the murder conviction of Isaac Bachman in the 2023 shooting death of 14-year-old Dakari James of Fort Dodge. Court documents stated that Bachman claimed he acted in self-defense after an online dispute escalated and the victim came to his home. The court rejected arguments that jurors were improperly instructed and ruled that there was overwhelming supporting the verdict. Bachman is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
