Jewell-The Hamilton County Conservation Board invites you to a Prairie Walk and Guided Writing program at Little Wall Lake.Iowa State University professor and Iowa Poet Laureate Deb Marquart will lead participants with a leisurely walk around the lake, the prairie and natural areas followed by a writing session. Participants will meet by the cabins at Little Wall Lake south of Jewell. Parking will be available nearby. You will be able to see native prairie habitat and seasonal wildflowers, view Little Wall Lake, discover a wooded trail area, and the small glacial wall that helped give Little Wall Lake its name. Children aged 10 and older are welcome to attend with a parent or adult guardian. Participants are asked to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water and dress for the weather. Please bring a notebook and pen for writing session. This project is part of the Prairie Roots Project with Humanities Iowa and Conservation Creations.
