Webster City girls golf places 10th at Class 3A, Region 1 Tournament in Spencer

SPENCER, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx girls golf team returned to action on Wednesday morning, as they competed in their Class 3A, Region 1 Tournament at the Spencer Golf and Country Club. The Lynx were joined by the host Tigers, as well as Algona, Bishop Heelan, Carroll, Clear Lake, Denison-Schleswig, Humboldt, Le Mars, MOC-Floyd Valley, Sergeant Bluff-Luton and Sioux Center.

Webster City would place 10th with a team score of 441 (+153), as their top placer was junior Carli Jessen, who finished 35th and shot a 107 (+35), as junior Hayden McCoy placed 37th and shot a 108 (+36). Senior Alleyna Dawson placed 47th and shot a 112 (+40) and senior Ellie Peterson shot a 114 (+42) and placed 49th to round out scoring.

MOC-Floyd Valley and Clear Lake advanced to the Class 3A State Tournament, which will be played at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls on May 28th and May 29th.
