The Iowa State Patrol Thursday morning investigated an accident involving a motorcycle and a deer on Highway 17 at the Hamilton Wright County line. Reportedly a southbound 2025 model Kawasaki motorcycle operated by Alexander Stoneburner of Thor struck a deer that entered the roadway. Stoneburner was transported to the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Investigating trooper Jesse Davenport estimated the damage to the motorcycle at $7,000.
