Roland-Story and South Hamilton boys golf both advance to districts from 2A Sectional

STORY CITY, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks boys golf teams returned to action on Wednesday morning, as Roland-Story hosted their Class 2A Sectional Tournament at River Bend Golf Course. The Norsemena nd Hawks were joined by East Sac County, Manson-Northwest Webster, Ogden, South Central Calhoun, Southeast Valley and Woodward-Granger.

Roland-Story and South Hamilton would tie for the meet championship, with both shooting a 324 (+36), but the tiebreaker would belong to Roland-Story, who claimed first place. Junior Wyatt Ramus had the top spot for the Norse, placing 4th and shooting a 79 (+7), while Ryan Fisher placed 5th and shot an 80 (+8). Senior Hayden Eslick placed 7th and shot an 81 (+9), as junior Jake Knoll rounded out scoring by placing 9th and shooting an 84 (+12). Other scorers for the Norsemen saw Tucker Hawkins shoot an 87 (+15) and Evan Byersdorfer shoot a 95 (+23).

South Hamilton also shot a 324 (+36), as senior Luke Martensen was the meet runner-up, shooting a 74 (+2), while fellow senior Brody Harris placed 3rd and shot a 79 (+7). Senior Sam Koehnk would place 11th and shoot an 84 (+12), as sophomore Garrett Johnson placed 17th and shot an 87 (+15) to round out scoring. Other scorers for the Hawks saw Maddux Becker shoot an 89 (+17) and Michael Carlson shoot a 93 (+21).

Roland-Story and South Hamilton boys golf return to action on Monday, when they compete in their Class 2A District Meet at Shenandoah Golf Course in Shenandoah, beginning at 10 AM.
