CHARLES CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Tuesday afternoon, as they made the trip to northeast Iowa to take on the Charles City Comets in North Central Conference action at Charles City High School. Webster City entered at 8-2-2, while Charles City entered at 1-12-1.
Tuesday’s first 20 minutes, would be scoreless, however Webster City broke through on a goal in the 20th minute from Aaron Mendoza to give the Lynx a 1-0 lead. Webster City would strike again before halftime, as Dany Morales scored on a breakaway off an Abasai Ramirez-Carmona assist in the 33rd minute as the Lynx led 2-0 at the halftime break.
The second half would be more of a defensive battle, as the Lynx would eventually add a goal in the 75th minute off an Abasai Ramirez-Carmona free kick to give Webster City a 3-0 lead and an eventual 3-0 win.
Webster City boys soccer returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura to take on the Cardinals in North Central Conference action at GHV High School, with kickoff at 5:30 PM.
