Primary Election Day is Tuesday,June 2nd. Hamilton County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Kim Schaa has announced the information that voters need to know about voting in the June 2nd election.
Absentee By Mail: The deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is Monday, May 18, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
In-Person Absentee Voting in the Hamilton County Auditor’s Office at the Hamilton County Courthouse, 2300 Superior St, Webster City, IA, begins Wednesday, May 13th during the regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The last day to cast an absentee ballot at the Auditor’s Office is Monday, June 1, 2026, by 4:30 p.m.
The Auditor’s office will be open on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 8:00-4:00 p.m. for absentee voting.
Absentee ballots must be requested in writing. Absentee Request forms are available at the Auditor’s Office, on the Hamilton County web site at www.hamiltoncounty.org and at the Iowa Secretary of State’s web site at www.sos.iowa.gov. Voted absentee ballots returned through the mail must be received in the Auditor’s Office by close of polls on Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, 2026, by 8:00 p.m.
