Webster City and Eagle Grove girls track compete in Iowa Falls-Alden Cadet Relays

IOWA FALLS, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx and Eagle Grove Eagles girls track and field teams returned to action on Monday evening, as they made the trip to Hardin County to compete in the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadet Relays at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. The Lynx and Eagles were joined by the host Cadets, as well as AGWSR, Grundy Center, Humboldt, South Hardin and St. Edmond.

Webster City placed 2nd in the meet with a total of 124.5 points and crowned a handful of winners, as the Lynx swept the throwing events with Amanda Lahr winning the shot put with a throw of 36′ 11.25″, while Avery Poppen won the discus with a throw of 108′ 11.5″. The Lynx then won the shuttle hurdle relay in a season-best time of 1:12.37 with the team of 1:12.37 with the team of VanDeer-Hartnett-Wright-Hansen to give them their final win of the night.

Eagle Grove placed 8th with a total of 25 points, as their top placer was sophomore Myka Anderson, who placed 3rd in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:17.93.

Webster City girls track returns to action on Thursday, when they host the North Central Conference girls meet at Bob Buckley Track in Webster City, beginning at 4:30 PM. Eagle Grove girls track returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Top of Iowa West Conference Meet at North Union, beginning at 4:30 PM.
