MANSON, Ia. — The Eagle Grove Eagles boys track and field teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip into Calhoun County to compete in the Boys Cougar Relays at the Keith Hart Athletic Complex in Manson. The Eagles were joined by the host Cougars, as well as Carroll, East Sac County, Pocahontas Area, South Central Calhoun, Southeast Valley and St. Edmond.
Eagle Grove placed 4th in the meet with 56 points, as their top placer was senior Leelan Spencer, who finished 2nd in the 100m dash in a time of 11.68 seconds, as Spencer finished 3rd in the 200m dash in a time of 23.76 seconds. Junior Anthony Vasquez placed 2nd in the 400m dash in a time of 54.32 seconds, as the Eagles 4×100 would place 3rd in a time of 46.18 seconds with the team of Thacker-Eisentrager-Pedersen-Spencer. Eagle Grove’s 4×800 placed 2nd in a time of 9:14.72 with the team of Waldo Martinez-Gonzalez-Reyes-Castro, as Gavin Pedersen placed 3rd in the discus with a throw of 127′ 1″.

Eagle Grove boys track and field returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Eldora to compete in the Clary Invite at South Hardin, beginning at 4:30 PM.
