POCAHONTAS, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx, Eagle Grove Eagles and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys track and field teams returned to action on Friday evening, as they competed in the annual Pocahontas Area Boys Relays at the PAC Athletic Complex. The Lynx, Eagles and Cowboys were joined by the host Indians, as well as Bishop Garrigan, Emmetsburg, Humboldt, North Union, Sioux Central, South Central Calhoun and Storm Lake.
Webster City placed 3rd in Class A, finishing with 112 points, as the Lynx saw a handful of winners, the first coming in the 4×800, which won in a time of 9:03.04 with the team of Thumma-Draeger-Barner-Lake. The Lynx distance medley followed with a win in a time of 3:34.62 with the team of Griffith-Hansen-Stroner-Callahan, before winning the 4×400 in a time of 3:27.98 with the team of Stroner-K. Hansen-D. Hansen-Callahan. Rylan Stroner would place 2nd in the 200m dash in a season-best time of 22.64, while Beau Nohrenberg placed 2nd in the shot put with a lifetime best throw of 48′ 3.5″.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 4th in the Class A with a total of 66.5 points, as their lone champion would be in the discus as junior Huxley Lingenfelter won with a throw of 136′ 1″. Logan Torsell placed 2nd in the 800m run in a time of 2:13.79, as the Cowboys shuttle hurdle placed 2nd in a time of 1:11.86 with the team of Rivera-P. Lingenfelter-H. Lingenfelter-Duncalf. CGD’s distance medley placed 2nd in 4:00.29 with the team of Downing-Hernandez-P. Lingenfelter-Torsell.
Eagle Grove would place 5th in Class A with a total of 63 points, as their top individual placer was senior Leelan Spencer in the 100m dash, running a lifetime-best 11.33 seconds. The Eagles 4×800 placed 2nd in a time of 9:18.84 with the team of Waldo Martinez-Castro-Reyes-Gonzalez. Keegan Eisentrager placed 3rd in the long jump with a season-best mark of 18′ 6.75″.
Webster City boys track and field returns to action on Tuesday, when they run at the Comet Boys Invite at North Polk, beginning at 4:30 PM. Eagle Grove boys track and field returns to action on Tuesday, when they run at the Boys Cougar Relays at Manson-Northwest Webster, beginning at 4:30 PM. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track and field returns to action on Tuesday, when they run at the GHV Cardinal Relays in Garner, beginning at 4:30 PM.
