Roland-Story and South Hamilton boys golf compete in Norsemen Invite

STORY CITY, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks boys golf team returned to action on Tuesday afternoon, as the Norsemen hosted their Norsemen Invite at River Bend Golf Course. The Hawks and Norsemen were joined by Gladbrook-Reinbeck, North Polk, PCM, West Marshall, Woodward-Granger.

Roland-Story would place 3rd in the meet with a team score of 313 (+25), as their top scorer was senior Hayden Eslick, who tied for 4th and shot a 75 (+3). Evan Byersdorfer and Ryan Fisher each shot a 78 (+6) and tied for 11th, as Jake Knoll rounded out scoring by shooting an 82 (+10). Other scorers for the Norsemen saw Wyatt Ramus shoot an 86 (+14) and tie for 25th, while Hayden Janssen shot an 87 (+15) and tie for 28th.

South Hamilton placed 4th as a team with a team score of 315 (+27), as their top placer was senior Brody Harris, who shot a 75 (+3) and tied for 4th. Luke Martensen would shoot a 78 (+6) and tie for 11th, as Sam Koehnk shot a 79 (+7) and tie for 17th, while Michael Carlson rounded out scoring by shooting an 83 (+11) and placing 24th. Other scorers for the Hawks saw Garrett Johnson tie for 35th and shoot a 94 (+22), and Maddux Becker shoot a 107 (+35) and place 42nd.

Roland-Story boys golf returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the North Polk Invitational at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny beginning at 11 AM. South Hamilton boys golf returns to action on Thursday when they host Ballard for a dual meet at Jewell Golf and Country Club at 4 PM.
