Webster City Police investigate one vehicle accident Saturday night at Superior and Division Streets with damage to two buildings.

Webster City- Webster City Police were summoned to investigate a one vehicle accident shortly after 8:30 Saturday night at Division and Superior Streets. Reportedly the brakes to a 2009 model Honda Odyssey passenger van driven by Maria Cedeno of Columbus Junction,Iowa did not work. Cedeno attempted to park her vehicle but kept going forward. The Cedeno vehicle exited a parking lot to the north and then struck the back of the Snap Fitness building with the front driver corner. After the vehicle glanced off of the Snap Fitness building, the Cedeno vehicle then came to rest against the Webster City Machine Shop west wall on the southwest corner. Damage to both buildings was estimated at $20,000 each. Cedeno escaped injury in the accident on Saturday night. There was $5000 in damage to the vehicle. Investigating officer Matthew Beckman charged Maria Cedeno with Failure to Maintain Control and Failure to have Motor Vehicle Insurance.
