ALTOONA, Ia. — The South Hamilton Hawks boys golf team opened their 2026 season on Monday, as they made the trip to the Des Moines metro for the Bondurant-Farrar 18-hole tournament at Terrace Hills Golf Course in Altoona. The Hawks were joined by the host Bluejays, as well as Gilbert, Martensdale-St. Marys, Nevada, North Polk and PCM.
South Hamilton placed 5th at the meet with a score of 332, as the top placer was senior Luke Martensen, who shot a 79 (+7) and finished tied for 6th, as fellow senior Brody Harris shot an 80 (+8) and tied for 12th. Sam Koehnk shot an 83 (+11) and tied for 16th, as Michael Carlson finished 24th and shot a 90 (+18).
South Hamilton boys golf returns to action on Tuesday, when they host Eagle Grove and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows for a non-conference tri at Jewell Golf and Country Club, beginning at 4 PM.
