This Monday will be a busy for Webster City city council members for their first meeting of April at City Hall. There will be a public hearing for Webster City’s Property Tax Levy. There will be a time for public comments for or against the levy. The City Council is setting the property tax levy rate at 16.51238 for the 26/27 fiscal year. This is a drop of 68 cents from the current fiscal year rate for Webster City.
Following the public hearing, the council will have its regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. Matthew Beckman will be introduced as the newest member of the Webster City Police Department as a police officer. The third and final reading on the ordinance on the new rates for electrical usage will be on the agenda. The date of April 20th at 6:05 p.m. will be set for the public hearing to certify the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Budget for Webster City.
In other matters, the Webster City City Council will accept a bid from Fahrner Asphalt Sealers LLC for the 2026 Asphalt Crack Sealing Project. A similar bid from Cardenas Concrete in the amount of $44,400 for the 2026 Superior Street Concrete Panel Replacement project. A bid will be awarded to Fort Dodge Asphalt for Asphalt Patching Services will be a part of the meeting. A permanent utility easement of Black Hills Energy on City Property will be reviewed. A resolution supporting the application of Edible Gardens Prairie Hills to the Iowa Economic Development Authority Iowa High Quality Jobs Program. There will be a motion approving Riverview Daycare assumption of the Webster City Daycare Mortgage with the City of Webster City followed approving the LOAN forgiveness between Riverview Daycare and the City of Webster City. The council will look at plans for the Webster City Clean Up and Dropoff event. The tentative dates will be June 12 and 13.
