WEBSTER CITY, Ia. — The Webster City Lynx basketball teams returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Algona Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School.
It was a great start for the Lynx girls on Friday, as they outscored the 15th-ranked team in 3A 9-1 in the opening quarter, but the Bulldog offense sprang to life in the 2nd quarter for 17 points to take an 18-17 halftime lead. The Algona defense would stiffen in the 2nd half, allowing just 10 points to cap a 47-27 victory.
Webster City stats were not available on Bound as of Monday morning, Maya Lentz and Kate Limbaugh led Algona with 12 points each.
Webster City’s boys would fall to Algona in a tight contest on Friday night, falling to the Bulldogs 47-43. Stats were not available as of Monday morning.
