Webster City volleyball swept at home by (3A) #5 Humboldt, 3-0

WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they welcomed in the Humboldt Wildcats in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. The Lynx entered at 16-9 and 3-2 in conference play, while the Wildcats entered at 20-6, 6-0 in league play and ranked #5 in Class 3A.

Mistakes would snowball early for Webster City, paired with an efficient Humboldt offense saw the Wildcats take the opening set 25-11. Set 2 would play out similarly as Humboldt came away with a similar 25-11 win to take a 2-0 lead. Set 3 saw Webster City’s offense find some rhythm, but the Wildcats would prove to be too much in a 25-16 win and a 3-0 sweep.

The KQWC Player of the Game was Webster City junior Tristyn Wright, who recorded 6 kills and 2 blocks, while Evie Davis added 4 kills and a block.

Webster City volleyball returns to action on Tuesday, when they host the Fort Dodge Dodgers in non-conference action for senior night at Webster City High School, with first serve at 7 PM.
