Webster City girls tennis falls to Osage, 5-4

WEBSTER CITY — The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team returned to action on Monday afternoon, as they hosted the Osage Green Devils in non-conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 6-5, while Osage entered at 3-4.

Webster City got off to a good start as Allie Severe and Alivia Burns won both their matches 2-0 (Severe: 6-1, 6-3 | Burns: 6-0, 6-0). Gabbie Sebert then lost in position 3 2-1 (6-3, 4-6, 7-10), as Sylvia Otteros then fell 2-0 (1-6, 1-6), as Olivia Bergman also lost 2-0 (4-6, 3-6). Natalie Segar got the Lynx back on the winning track with a 2-0 victory (6-1, 7-5) as the match was tied going into doubles.

Things started positively for the Lynx in doubles as Allie Severe and Alivia Burns picked up a 2-0 sweep (7-6, 6-1). Olivia Bergman and Gabbie Sebert would fall 2-0 (1-6, 2-6), as Natalie Segar and Camdyn Coons fell 2-0 (4-6, 2-6) as Osage won the match 5-4.

Webster City girls tennis returns to action on Wednesday, as they host the NCC Tournament at Webster City High School, with action beginning at 10 AM.
