The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls softball team returned to action on Tuesday, as they hosted the Rockford Warriors in non-conference action at CGD High School. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows entered at 0-11, while Rockford entered at 3-9.
Rockford set the tone from the get out, putting up a 13-run 1st inning, as CGD responded with 3 runs of their own in the bottom half to have the score at 13-3 after the first. Rockford then added a run in the 2nd, 3 runs in the 3rd, followed by 2 runs in the 4th to go up 19-3. CGD would post a run in the bottom of the 4th, but it wouldn’t be enough to extend the game in a 19-4 defeat in 4 innings.
Tess Wibholm would go 2-for-2 with an RBI, Gracelyn Bremmer went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI, while Adelynn Howell went 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI. Howell would be charged with the loss, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits and striking out 3 in 3.2 innings.
