Webster City girls tennis edges South Hardin in Eldora, 5-4

The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team opened their 2025 season on Thursday, as they made the trip east into Hardin County to take on the South Hardin Tigers at Eldora Municipal Park in Eldora.

The day would start with Allie Severe losing an 8-0 match in position 1, before Olivia Gallentine would win an 8-3 decision in position 2. Alivia Burns would lose 8-4 in position 3, before the Lynx reeled off 3 straight wins from Morgan Hackbarth (8-1), Cyra Christensen (9-8) and Gabbie Sebert (8-5) to lead 4-2 heading into doubles.

The team of Oliva Gallentine and Morgan Hackbarth would lose 8-2 in Position 1, before the duo of Allie Severe and Alivia Burns sealed the dual with an 8-1 win in Position 2. Cyra Christensen and Gabbie Sebert would lose 8-4 to wrap up the dual.

Webster City girls tennis returns to action on Friday, when they host St. Edmond in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School.
