Memorial Day services set for this Monday morning,May 27.

Websetr City’s American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary invites the community to attend Memorial Day services this Monday,May 27.  Legion members who are on the Firing Squad will need to be at the Legion by 7:30 A.M. Legion members, and the Auxiliary will assemble at the Legion Hall at 8:00 a.m. Monday for the transportation to the services. The first service will be at 8:30 a.m. at the Marshall Crippen Bridge on North Des Moines Street for those lost at sea. The ceremony will be conducted by the Webster City American Legion Auxiliary. Services at the Cass Center Cemetery will begin at 9:00 a.m. conducted by American Legion Post 191. The annual Memorial Day Parade will form at 10:00 a.m. in the 700 block of Second Street in the north alley. The parade wil travel south on Des Moines Street to the Boulevard of Valor beginning at 10:30. There will be a presentation of the roses at the markers. Recognition of active duty military personnel by the Auxiliary will be held on the Boulevard. The parade will continue south on Des Moines turning west on Ohio and entering through Graceland Cemetery and Memorial Stage. The service on Memorial Day will be at Graceland Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with the service to be conducted by local American Legion commander Richard Stroner.
