The Avenue of Flags return to Graceland and Calvary Cemeteries in Webster City this next weekend. The Webster City American Legion announced plans for the display. There is a need for volunteers to help put the flags and poles up for Memorial Day. The flags will be installed at 9:00 a.m. this Saturday,May 25 at Graceland Cemetery. Volunteers will be need to meet at the Avenue of Flag building before 8:45 a.m. this Saturday. The flags will be taken down at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday,June 1 and will be taken back in storage
There are over 500 flags and poles to install and the American Legion Post would appreciate anyone who wants to help. Small pickup trucks, golf carts or side-by-sides are needed to take the flags to different cemetery locations. If you are going to help please be at the blue building with the flag display in front of it or all of those mornings.
