Webster City, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf competes in NCC Tri at The Links

The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf teams returned to action on Friday afternoon, as they competed with Hampton-Dumont-CAL in a North Central Conference tri at Links Public Golf Course in Webster City.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 2nd with a score of 219 (+75), with Sawyer Morrical having the top score of 49 (+13) and placing 4th. Maddie Askvig was 7th with a score of 56 (+20), as Sydney Friesleben and Claire Kirstein tied for 8th, with each shooting 57’s (+21) to round out scoring for the Cowgirls. Sophia McLaughlin also shot a 57 (+21) and tied for 8th.

Webster City would place 3rd with a team score of 224 (+80), as senior Kennedy Halling placed 5th with a 53 (+17). Claryssa Hanson placed 6th with a 55 (+19), as Claire Bailey and Kenley Koop tied for 12th with each shooting a 58 (+22) to round out scoring for the Lynx.

Webster City returns to action on Tuesday, when they face Greene County in a non-conference match at The Hill Golf Course in Grand Junction. CGD returns to action on Friday, when they host Humboldt and Algona for an NCC tri at Oak Ridge Golf Course in Goldfield.
