The Roland-Story Norsemen boys golf team made the trip into Grundy County on Saturday morning, to compete in the annual Bob Schmadeke Invitational at Town and Country Golf Club in Grundy Center. The Norsemen were joined by the host Spartans, as well as BCLUW, Beckman Catholic, Hillcrest Academy, Hudson, Osage and Union Community.
It would be a tough day at the course for the Norsemen, finishing 8th with a team score of 378 (+90). Braylen Loos would place 16th, shooting a 90 (+18) on the day. Hayden Janssen would tie for 23rd with a 94 (+22), while Dylan Gustafson shot a 96 (+24) to tie for 27th, as Jack Birkland rounded out the scoring with a 98 (+26) to finish the scoring. Nels Hanson would shoot a 99 (+27), while Hayden Eslick shot a 104 (+32) to finish the lineup.
Roland-Story returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Polk City to compete in a quad meet with South Hamilton, Saydel and North Polk.
