Roland-Story, South Hamilton, CGD girls golf compete in Story City.

The Roland-Story Norsemen, South Hamilton Hawks and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls golf teams returned to action on Thursday afternoon, as they competed at River Bend Golf Course in Story City. The Norsemen, Hawks and Cowgirls were joined by Grand View Christian, North Polk and West Marshall.

Roland-Story dominated the field from start to finish, winning with a team score of 171 (+27). Brooke Thompson would be the individual champion on the blustery day, with a score of 40 (+4). Brinley Carlson would tie for 2nd with West Marshall’s Allie Pfantz, shooting a 42 (+6), as sister Makenna Carlson was 4th with a 43 (+7). Gabriella Wakefield was 5th with a 46 (+10) to round out the varsity scoring for the Norsemen.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 3rd in the meet with a score of 231 (+87). Sawyer Morrical was the Cowgirls top golfer on the day, shooting a 48 (+12) and placing 6th. Sophia McLaughlin tied for 12th with a score of 55 (+19), as Jordyce Duncalf tied for 22nd with a score of 62 (+26). Maddie Askvig rounded out scoring with a 66 (+30) for the Cowgirls.

South Hamilton would place 4th with a team score of 245 (+101). Abby Adamski and Arynn Luppes would tied for the team-low with each shooting a 56 (+20) on the day. Macy Conklin would shoot a 65 (+29), while Abby Richardson rounded out the lineup with a 68 (+32).

Roland-Story and South Hamilton girls return to action on Monday, when they travel to Lincoln Valley Golf Course outside of State Center for an 18-hole tournament. CGD returns to action on Friday, when they compete in an NCC tri-meet at Links Public Golf Course in Webster City with Webster City and Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
