Webster City boys soccer blows out Iowa Falls-Alden, 10-0

The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Thursday evening, as they welcomed in the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field in Webster City.

Webster City would come out of the gates a tad slow, but Eddy Fuentes connected on the first goal in the 9th minute off an Eduardo Perez assist, to put the Lynx up 1-0. Webster City would then provide an onslaught beginning in the 23rd minute, which saw the Lynx score 2 goals in that minute from Eduardo Perez and Eddy Fuentes to go up 3-0. Freshman Israel Torres would then convert a penalty kick in the 25th minute to make it 4-0, before Eddy Fuentes completed a first half hat trick with a goal in the 29th minute to make it 5-0 at halftime.

Craig Signorin’s squad did not waste time in the 2nd half, as Eduardo Perez scored in the opening minute of the half to make it 6-0. The Lynx would add goals in the 46th, 49th, 57th and 64th minute before taking home a 10-0 mercy rule victory. Eddy Fuentes would score 4 goals in total, Eduardo Perez finished with 3 goals, Israel Torres had 2 goals, and David Villelas added a goal as well.

Webster City improved to 5-0 with the win, and will return to action next Thursday, when they travel to Aplington to take on Aplington-Parkersburg at 5:30 PM.
