Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Eagle Grove boys track compete at Indian Relays in Forest City

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Eagle Grove Eagles boys track teams returned to action on Thursday afternoon, as they made the trip into Winnebago County to compete in the Indian Relays at Forest City High School. The Cowboys and Eagles were joined by the host Indians, as well as Iowa Falls-Alden and West Fork.

Eagle Grove would claim an individual champion in sophomore Landon Mrla, who won the long jump with a mark of 20′ 3″. Other notable finishes for the Eagles included a 3rd place finish in the sprint medley in a time of 1:45.58, while Felix Reyes also placed 3rd in the 1600m run in a time of 5:26.14. The Eagles 4×100 placed 3rd in a time of 47.01, while Syrus Willard placed 3rd in the high jump, clearing 5′ 8″. Drake Canavan would be 4th in the 400m Dash in a time of 58.55.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would claim just one individual champion, as Mason Allen would win the discus with a throw of 142′ 7″. Bryce Lindaman would place 5th in the shot put with a throw of 36′ 6″.

Eagle Grove would place 3rd with 81 points, while Clarion-Goldfield-Dows was 5th with 28 points. Forest City was the meet champion with 212 points. Eagle Grove returns to action on Tuesday, when they compete at the Lynx Relays in Webster City, while CGD returns to action on Monday when they compete at Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
