Eagle Grove cross country competes in Humboldt Invitational

The Eagle Grove Eagles cross country teams returned to action on Monday night, as they competed at the annual Humboldt Invitational at Joe Sheldon Park in Humboldt. The Eagles were joined by the host Wildcats, as well as Algona, Boone, Bishop Garrigan, Emmetsburg, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Fort Dodge, Iowa Falls-Alden, Manson-Northwest Webster, North Union, St. Edmond, Pocahontas Area, West Hancock.

Eagle Grove’s girls did not compete as a complete team, with Alizabeth Page the only runner, placing 72nd in a time of 29:38.48. Eagle Grove’s boys would place 4th as a team with 118 points. Noah Thul was the top placer, finishing 10th in a time of 19:36.71, while Zabdi Castro placed 11th in 19:41.31. Felix Reyes placed 31st in 21:00.64, Dylan Beck was 33rd in 21:04.52, while Patrick Heaton rounded out the varsity scoring in 38th in 21:09.87.

Eagle Grove cross country returns to action next Monday with the Algona Invitational at River Road Golf Course in Algona.
