Webster City High School is expected to name ex-Lynx wrestler Drake Doolittle as their next head wrestling coach, pending school board approval at their regular meeting on Monday night. Doolittle replaces outgoing coach Chad Hisler, who stepped down following his 9-season tenure, in which the Lynx won 2 NCC Dual titles and appeared in 2 state dual tournaments.
Doolittle wrestled for Webster City from 2015-2019, winning 135 matches, as well as 4 North Central Conference titles, podium appearances 4 consecutive state wrestling meets, and a state championship in 2019, wrestling at 120 lbs in Class 2A. Doolittle went on to wrestle for the Duke Blue Devils out of the ACC collegiately.
Doolittle takes over a Webster City team that scored their most points ever in a traditional state tournament in 2022, and returns 3 medal winners and 8 starters from last years NCC Championship team.
