South Hamilton boys compete in Bengal Co-Ed Relays at Gilbert

The South Hamilton Hawks boys track team made the short drive south on Highway 69 on Monday evening, to compete in the Bengal Co-Ed Relays at Gilbert High School in Gilbert. The Hawks were joined by the host Tigers, as well as Ames, Greene County, Iowa Falls-Alden, North Polk, Ogden, Van Meter.

The Hawks would pick up a couple of wins on Monday night, the first coming from Teagan Trask in the high jump, winning the event with a high-water mark of 5′ 10″, tying his season best mark. South Hamilton would book-end this with a win in the 4×400 relay, winning in a time of 3:31.39 with the team of Koehnk-Ricke-Severseike-Hodnefield.

Kyle Galetich’s squad would pick up a handful of 2nd-place finishes, placing 2nd in the Sprint Medley in a time of 1:37.46 with the team of Severseike-Drake-Hodnefield-Koehnk, 2nd in the 4×200 relay in a time of 1:34.82 with Koehnk-Drake-Severseike-Hodnefield and Ty Koehnk placing 2nd in the 200 meter dash in a time of 23.22.

South Hamilton would place 5th in the meet with 62 points, Iowa Falls-Alden was the team champion with 135.5 points. Full results can be found online at aatiming.com.
