Webster City Community School Board to meet Monday evening, February 13.

When the Webster City Community School Board meets this Monday evening, there will be a discussion with athletic director Jess Howard on a gate plan for the softball and baseball games this summer and a split season plan for the middle school basketball and wrestling for next season. The board will have the final reading on a board policy for the succession  of authority to the superintendent,the approval of an education contract with the Des Moines Independent Community School District, the acceptance of a monetary donation for choir robes from Van Diest Supply Company and for fundraising requests in the district. In personnel matters, the Webster City school board will formally accept the hiring of Matt Berninghaus as superintendent effective July 1. The board will consider the resignations from middle school teacher Krystal Laughlin and Pleasant View paraeducator Rhonda Olmstead. Karen Tungesvik who is the current principal at Pleasant View will be transferred to Sunset Heights beginning in the 2023-24 school year. The Webster City school board will discuss plans for an upcoming informal board meeting with the Stratford school board. There will also be a closed session of the board to discuss the purchase or sale of particular real estate.The Webster City school board meeting is set for 6 p.m. this Monday evening at the school office at 820 Des Moines Street.
